For a little while today we thought we might need to pick a new shower tile for the bathroom. The marble tiles we had chosen were delivered today and 80% of them were chipped. Our builder immediately packed them up and took them back to Metric Tiles. Apparently the tiles we chose were seconds, although this was never made known to us. The tiles were in the clearance section marked at 50% off, but every tile we saw was whole and in good condition, and there were no signs saying they were seconds! Thankfully our builder put in the hard yards and argued the case on our behalf and Metric Tiles agreed to replace them with a different marble tile at no extra cost. 🙂
The black velvet limestone has been grouted – with the dark grout – and is looking great. It should look even better once it has been sealed.
The ensuite tiles have been placed in position ready for grouting.
The bathroom and ensuite were a lovely shade of green on the weekend – waterproofing. There was also a big pile of limestone tiles in the dining area.
Today I had to decide whether to have white/light or black/dark grout with the Black Velvet tiles – I chose dark (the tiler agreed, hubby wants light). I think I’ve won that one! The tiles have put been in place in the bathroom, toilet and laundry. They are a bit dusty at the moment, but once grouted and cleaned up will have a sealant applied.
The tiles for the ensuite have also been delivered.
Furnishing bought for Oscar’s Star Wars room – new doonah (to fit the european star wars cover), desk lamp (metalic and star wars-ish) and bedside table (it looks a bit like those walking fighter thingies!) from Ikea.
Connecting the electricity (this task finally pushed me to tears!). Are there no electricity companies that know their processes for connecting a new property?
Confirmed solar panel installation.
Oscar came to Ikea with me and enjoyed the shopping, but he is a bit over being dragged out shopping and to the house!
